This page is for a cover, poster, or frame you can save as a JPEG, PNG, or WebP. Drop that still in the tool, strip the metadata the report lists, and upload the cleaned image as the next cover. The video file is not opened here, so a label stored on the MP4 or MOV can remain.
What “metadata remover video” usually means
People search for a metadata remover for video when a platform stamps AI on a Reel, a TikTok, or a Short, or when a phone wrote location into a clip. Those are different objects. A cover image is a still. The video is a container: picture frames, audio, and sometimes a metadata box beside them. This site’s cleaner rewrites still images. It does not demux, remux, or re-encode a video.
If the file you can download is a JPEG, PNG, or WebP, you are on the right page. If the only file is MP4, MOV, or WebM, stop and export a still first, or use a video tool that actually edits that container. Uploading the video here will not produce a cleaned video.
Cover, thumbnail, and poster frame
Instagram Reel covers, TikTok cover thumbnails, and YouTube poster frames are stills the platform stores next to the video. A label can come from that still, from the video, from a disclosure in the app, or from the platform’s own detection. Cleaning the still only changes the still.
- Export or save the cover as JPEG, PNG, or WebP. A screenshot of the player is a different image.
- Inspect it. C2PA, IPTC DigitalSourceType, EXIF, and GPS show up when they are in that file.
- Clean in AI only when the job is generation metadata. Use EXIF / GPS when the job is location. Use strip-all when the After report still lists a chunk you need gone.
- Download the
-cleanedfile and set that file as the next cover. Delete the live post first when the platform will not edit it in place.
TikTok photo-mode images and cover thumbnails are written up on remove TikTok AI label. An Instagram Story, Highlight, or Reel cover still is remove AI info from an Instagram Story. A feed post or carousel is remove Instagram AI info.
What stays in the video file
Replacing a cover does not rewrite the video. A C2PA manifest, a location tag, or a caption stored in the video container is untouched. A disclosure you toggled inside TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube is not in the cover file, so a metadata clean cannot switch it off. SynthID and other pixel watermarks are not metadata. This tool does not remove them from a frame, and it does not claim to strip them from a video.
The vocabulary for the still is what is AI metadata. GPS on a photo, not a video, is remove EXIF. A PDF is a pdf metadata remover page, separate from video.
Questions
Can this site remove AI metadata from an MP4 or MOV?
No. The cleaner opens still images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, and BMP. It does not rewrite video containers, audio, or subtitle tracks.
Will cleaning the cover remove a label on the video?
Only if the platform read the label from that still. A label attached to the video file, a disclosure you set in the app, or a classifier can remain after the cover is clean.
Does a screenshot of the video remove the metadata?
A screenshot is a new image. It usually drops file metadata such as C2PA. It does not remove a pixel watermark, and it is not a cleaned copy of the video.
Where should a TikTok or Instagram cover go?
TikTok photo-mode stills and cover thumbnails are on the TikTok page. Instagram Story stills, Highlights, and Reel covers are on the Instagram Story page. The video file itself stays out of scope.
A metadata remover video search usually means a cover, poster, or frame saved as JPEG, PNG, or WebP. This page cleans that still. It does not open an MP4, MOV, or WebM.
