Instagram AI Info · metadata only

Remove Instagram AI Info metadata

Instagram “AI Info” is often tied to Content Credentials and other provenance tags embedded in the file. This page owns the Instagram job: strip those tags locally before you post. For Facebook Feed / Pages / Groups / Marketplace use Remove Facebook AI Info; for TikTok stills use Remove TikTok AI label. Not a platform-label guarantee.

Metadata-only. Not SynthID / TrustMark removal. Platform AI labels are not guaranteed gone after cleaning.

What this page does (and does not)

Creators search remove AI Info after Instagram stamps a post. Some of that stamp comes from C2PA Content Credentials and AI XMP / IPTC DigitalSourceType in the download. This tool targets those file fields. It does not turn off Instagram’s in-app toggle, does not rewrite pixels, and does not fight classifiers.

Where metadata lives (MVP formats)

Format C2PA / Content Credentials EXIF / GPS AI text / XMP
JPEG APP11 / JUMBF segments; XMP pointers APP1 Exif APP1 XMP; IPTC APP13
PNG caBX chunk eXIf tEXt / iTXt / zTXt (e.g. parameters)
WebP C2PA / caBX-class RIFF chunks EXIF chunk XMP chunk

What each strip mode removes

Mode Removes Keeps (typical)
AI provenance (default) C2PA/JUMBF, Content Credentials XMP, AI DigitalSourceType, known AI PNG text Ordinary camera EXIF when it is not AI/C2PA-linked
Privacy EXIF GPS, device/camera EXIF, common IPTC (+ C2PA by default) Pixels only — privacy-first pass
Strip all All detected EXIF / XMP / IPTC / C2PA categories in the report Image payload / structural chunks

Honest SynthID boundary

SynthID / TrustMark / soft-binding watermarks are not ordinary EXIF or C2PA metadata. Remove AI Meta does not claim pixel-watermark removal, “undetectable AI”, or guaranteed platform AI-label erasure. If Instagram still shows AI Info after a clean verify pass, the signal was not (only) file metadata.

HEIC/HEIF: not shipped client-side yet. Export to JPEG / PNG / WebP first — we will not fake HEIC support.

If you already know the file has a C2PA manifest, use the technical owner Remove C2PA Content Credentials. If you only need GPS and camera fields gone, use Remove EXIF. For the general cleaner, go back to remove AI metadata.

Suggested workflow

  1. Export the final JPEG, PNG, or WebP (not a screenshot of the Instagram UI). HEIC is not supported yet — convert first.
  2. Run Inspect, then Clean in AI provenance mode on this page (or Try sample to see the report shape).
  3. Download and re-open with Inspect only to verify C2PA / AI tags are gone.
  4. Upload that file. If the app still shows AI Info, the signal was not metadata — we will not claim otherwise.

What competitors often blur

Many “remove AI label” pages (removeailabel, aimetadatacleaner, ghoststrip-class marketing) mix EXIF privacy, C2PA stripping, and detector-evasion claims. This owner page stays on Instagram AI Info provenance metadata. Facebook surfaces live on Remove Facebook AI Info; TikTok stills on Remove TikTok AI label. For technical manifests use Remove C2PA; for GPS/camera privacy use Remove EXIF.
