Cleans metadata in your browser. SynthID and TrustMark stay in the pixels. A cleaned file does not force Instagram to drop a label.

This AI metadata remover takes C2PA manifests, IPTC DigitalSourceType, and Content Credentials XMP out of a JPEG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC. The pixels stay. Some people search for an AI metadata cleaner and some for a remover; it is the same job: read the file, remove the generation records, and read it again to prove they are gone.

Where those records sit

A JPEG keeps a C2PA manifest in an APP11 JUMBF box, and it keeps Content Credentials pointers in APP1 XMP. IPTC DigitalSourceType, including trainedAlgorithmicMedia, is usually in that XMP. A PNG uses a caBX chunk for the manifest and text chunks for a generator recipe. A WebP uses RIFF chunks for XMP and C2PA. The byte-level owner for the manifest is Remove C2PA. How this page differs from AI Metadata Cleaner is the alternative page.

Camera make, timestamps, and GPS are a different layer. When the file has both a location and a manifest, the combined pass is how to clean EXIF and AI metadata.

Read the file, then strip

Inspect only lists what this scanner found before anything is removed. A C2PA line means a manifest is in this container. An AI line means a known hint, such as DigitalSourceType or a PNG parameters chunk. No line means this scan did not find that category. The checklist for reading a quiet report is how to check if a photo has AI metadata.

Clean this file writes a new file and scans those bytes again. The After column is that second scan, not a copy of the Before list. Download when the generation lines you saw are gone. The name ends in -cleaned. HEIC, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, and BMP open directly; the page tells you the output format. A screenshot of a label is a new image and usually does not contain the original manifest.

A clean download is not a cloud delete

If Export As published Content Credentials to Adobe’s cloud, that public record is separate from the file on disk. This tool only rewrites the local JPEG, PNG, or WebP. It never talks to that service. What Content Credentials are, including the cloud copy, is the Content Credentials explainer.

Questions

Does a Stable Diffusion parameters chunk count as AI metadata?

Yes, when it is a PNG text chunk this scanner knows, such as parameters or prompt. AI only removes those known keys. A leftover workflow chunk can still need All metadata. The PNG recipe is on the Stable Diffusion page.

Will AI only mode delete GPS and camera EXIF?

No. AI only leaves ordinary camera EXIF and GPS. EXIF / GPS or All metadata removes them. The page for both layers together is the EXIF and AI cleaning guide.

If the After list is empty, will Instagram drop AI info?

Only when the label was coming from metadata in the file you upload next. A watermark in the pixels, a platform classifier, or a disclosure you turned on can still label it. An empty After list is a scan of this file.

Does the cleaner upload the image?

No. Inspect, clean, and verify run in the browser. The photo is not uploaded to build the cleaned file.

How do I remove AI metadata from a photo?

Add the JPEG, PNG, or WebP and press Clean this file. AI provenance removes the generation records this scan lists. A watermark in the pixels stays, and video is not accepted.
